Maria is the Chief Insights & Analytics for Havas Group and Chief Executive Officer of Havas X. She leads Insights – including Meaningful Brands, Analytics, Content Marketing and Innovation across Havas.

Maria joined Havas in 2014 after 18 years of experience in operational and strategic marketing roles across North America, Latin America and Europe.

Maria speaks frequently at industry events, most recently at Mumbrella Australia. She was also recently on the Media Jury at Cannes Advertising Festival.

Maria is fluent in French, Spanish and English. She is based in Paris with her family.

Vicky L. Ortega

Planning Consultant
Havas Anthropology

Vicky found strategic planning for brand communications and continues to be her passion in the field of advertising. She focuses on working to bridge anthropological research and brand strategy. Her long time partner in this endeavor is Gayia Beyer, a practicing anthropologist in the emerging field of applied anthropology. The Asian Millennial Study is one of their major collaborations and took two years to complete.

In college, Vicky danced with the Bayanihan Dance Company, extending her college years to 7 instead of 5. She stayed with the company for 8 years after which she moved on to build her career in advertising.

She began in account management in a agency known as Lintas, which handled a good chunk of Unilever business. Lintas is now known as the Mullenlowe agency. Vicky stayed with Lintas for 15 years. She became the Strategic Business Unit Head for the Unilever Division handling the detergents, home care and personal products accounts. In the years of handling the Unilever accounts, she honed her skills in strategic planning.

After 5 years as a Business Unit Head, Vicky was tasked to set up the Strategic Planning Group for company, then known as Lowe Lintas. Under her leadership, the planning group became one of the strongest and most respected planning groups in the industry. She and her team were responsible for the extremely successful relaunch of Surf with the Lumen campaign. The Surf Lumen still remains to be a benchmark of success in marketing. The brand overtook Tide, the 20-year market leader, in only one year.

Vicky retired from Lowe Lintas in 2001. In 2005, she joined her husband, Jos Ortega in BrandLab, a maverick company that took planning out of the agency milieu, direct to Client. Vicky and her team developed new techniques to plan for service brands. They were instrumental in the success of brands, such as, DMCI homes and TFC, the Filipino Channel.

When her husband set up Havas Ortega, Vicky joined him to help once more with strategic planning. Her work influenced the successful relaunch of LBC’s ‘We Move Space’ campaign and and recent new business wins, Nutricia and a more comprehensive scope of LBC’s digital business.

Vicky is also involved with work for NGOs and foundations. She is a member of the Probe Foundation. She teaches strategic messaging a team member of Probe’s Facing the Media Workshops.

Her passions beyond work are training her big dogs (two labradors and a Great Dane), doodling, baking, photography and gift wrapping.

Rachael McLoughlin

Digital Director
H4B Manchester

Rachel has 8 years experience building digital products in both delivery and consultative capacity across a wide range of industry areas including new media, healthcare, retail and banking, both agency and client-side. 2.5 years experience is in healthcare sector.

Her projects range from large-scale enterprise software solutions, to greenfield projects, to PoC work.

She delivered the Care4Today programme in partnership with Janssen Healthcare Innovation across Orthopaedic, Cardiology and Mental health treatment areas across the UK and US.

She is enthusiastic about the creative application of technology to deliver helpful change and solve real-world problems.

Paolo Borromeo

Paolo Borromeo is a Managing Director and a member of the Ayala Corporation Management Committee and the Ayala Group Management Committee. He is the Group Head of Corporate Strategy and Development of the Company, overseeing strategy, innovation, special projects, and new business development.

In addition, Mr. Borromeo leads Ayala Corporation’s healthcare businesses as President of Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. He also sits on the board of various companies across the Ayala Group.

Prior to joining Ayala, he was a Principal at Booz & Company, a global strategy consulting firm, based out of San Francisco, California.

Paolo holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering at Ateneo de Manila University and his Masters in Business Administration with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Cheryl Maley

Cheryl joined Novartis in late 2013 and has been Country Head and President in the Philippines since September 2016. She has 20 years Pharmaceutical industry experience with roles spanning across sales, marketing, business development, communications, commercial operations and Patient Access. She is a very experienced Marketer with local, regional and global experience and has worked for a diverse range of pharmaceutical organisations including Servier, Wyeth and Abbott/AbbVie.

In addition to the breadth and depth of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Cheryl also worked over five years with a Consulting organization that provided broad experience across many diverse industries from FMCG to heavy machinery. This Director of Business Development role covered the Asia Pacific region providing exposure and leadership experience in many diverse cultures.

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Science degree, a Diploma of Education and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New England in Armidale, Australia. She also has a passion for innovation and has completed formal trainings with What-If Innovation (UK), Kellogg Institute (USA), Inventium (Australia) and RAW Innovation (Australia).

Brent Denning

President and Country Manager
Pfizer Philippines

Brent is the President and Country Manager of Pfizer Philippines and also concurrently leads the Pfizer Essential Health business unit. Brent earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Diploma in Chemistry Industry from Macquarie University in Syndey, Australia. He has over 20 years of experience and success in marketing, strategy, and sales across Asia Pacific (Japan and Australia) prior to joining Pfizer Philippines.

Pfizer Philippines employs over 700 Filipinos and covers primary care, hospital injectables, vaccines, generics, and consumer healthcare products. Pfizer has been cited as one of the top corporate taxpayers in the Philippines in recent years and maintains a strong social responsibility presence through the Pfizer Philippines Foundation, where Brent is also the Chairman and Trustee.

Brent is a board member of the Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) and chairs its Public Affairs Committee. He also chairs the Pharmaceutical Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. Among his other memberships are the Management Association of the Philippines, Makati Business Club, European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and the Manila Polo Club.

Christopher French

Worldwide Channel Development and Delivery Leader
IBM Customer Experience

Mr French has over 25 years working in technology with key roles in transformation technology. He has 12 years experience in Emergency Medicine, successfully developed Y2K plans for Xerox and Kodak, and the IBM Smarter Cities platform. Currently Mr French is the WorldWide leader for Watson Customer Engagement solutions delivery and business development.

Teodoro Padilla

Executive Director
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP)

Currently, Ted Padilla serves as the Executive Director of PHAP. Prior to PHAP, he worked as Executive Director at the Senate of the Philippines; Country Manager at IATA (International Air Transport Association); Vice President at United Coconut Planters Bank and Citibank.

He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and BA degree from the University of the Philippines.
