AMY AVERY

Amy Avery

J. Walter Thompson – Global Head of Analytics

Amy is one of those people who has to find a reason for everything. Where other people see a web site, Amy sees heat maps, click paths, and conversions. Most people open their mailbox to get the mail; Amy goes to hers to confirm that her segmentation hasn’t changed. So it’s a good thing that Amy spends her days looking for answers in consumers’ digital behaviors. As Worldwide Head of Data and Analytics, Amy’s team leverages data to provide actionable insights. Part of their focus is to identify opportunities and targets. Another part is outcome-based planning, measurement and optimization recommendations. Amy returns to JWT after 4 years at BBDO/Proximity, where she was Head of Data and Analytics, building the digital analytics capability from the ground up. Working with brands such as AT&T, Hewlett Packard, FedEx, GE, and Starbucks, she created measurement frameworks that spanned both consumer and B2B advertising. Having solid grounding in direct, CRM and digital work, she has also worked as an Account Director leading teams that handle web site development, online media, direct mail, database management and measurement and analytics programs. Away from her work and her numerous spreadsheets, Amy lives in NYC with her two children. Not too surprisingly, they have a tendency to ask why a lot.
