  • Learning Photoshop 7.0 and Its Applications

    Mario J. Ramirez is an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Adobe Photoshop. He is an AutoCAD instructor at various training centers and does consulting work for companies requiring programming, customization and training in AutoCAD 2000, 3D Studio Animation and MS Excel. Prior to this, he was the CAD training supervisor and a senior instructor at MagnaCAD's AutoCAD Training Center. (MagnaCAD is the local distributor for Autodesk until 1994). It was during his stint at MagnaCAD when he had the opportunity to train at Autodesk in Sausalito, USA.
  • Fundamentals of Effective Design Layouts in Publishing

    Ige Ramos obtained his degree program in Fine Arts from the University of Sto. Tomas. Over the years, he worked as a Designer for Asin, Inc., Design by Chiye, Tribal Genius, Levi's Strauss Far East, and was a founding staff member of the Museo ng Kalinangang Pilipino (The Museum of Philippine Culture) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. While at the CCP, he also worked as a graphic designer for Ballet Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino. Established in 1988, Ige Ramos Design Studio (IRDS), is a graphic design studio working mostly on books and publications. Among his clients are the Cultural Center of the Philippines, World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNESCO, Southern Energy, Ayala Museum, Hiraya Gallery, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Tahanan Books for Young Readers, Anvil Publishing, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, Palau National Communication Corporation, Belau National Museum, Alfonso Yuchengco Group of Companies, American Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation, World Wildlife Fund, Hans Brumann, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts where he art directed ARAW, a quarterly magazine on Philippine Art and Culture today. His pro-bono client includes, ChildHope Asia Philippines, Pangarap Shelter for Street Children, Daughters of Charity and British Airways Runners. His designs for these outfits have earned him numerous honors and awards at home and abroad. In collaboration with Tahanan Books and Island Graphic Corporation, Ige Ramos' career as a graphic designer was molded technically in terms of creating a standardized environment in digital workflow management --- a practice in major design studios and publishing/printing presses abroad. This strategic working partnership had produced a substantial body of work --- various projects ranging from post-cards, calendars, magazines, and coffee-table books, among them: Bob Razon, the Art of Salon Photography, Veil: The Secret Behind the Perfect Wedding and, recently, EDSA 2: a Nation in Revolt. Ige Ramos has traveled extensively and participated in design conferences, workshops and seminars in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, London, Paris, Florence, Prague, Dublin, Paris and Barcelona. In 1991, he visited Japan under the auspices of Reed Foundation to observe art activities in Tokyo and Yokohama and apprenticed in the making and production of "washi" the traditional method of hand-made papermaking in Saitama Prefecture. Japanese art and culture significantly influenced his art making and design sensibilities. Apart from producing print-based graphics, Ige Ramos also designs web pages and electronic publications. An advocate of PDF (Portable Document Format) and the Macintosh platform, he has delivered lectures on this subject at various fora, including Philippine Graphic Expo and the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging, where he is a faculty and member of the Board of Directors.
  • Optimizing Photoshop and Illustrator as Imaging Tools

    Tony Bucu is a creative consultant for PixelMagic. a digital imaging studio and service bureau. An electrical engineer by education (Mapua Institute of Technology), he pursued a career in graphic design. From a layout artist for Graphic Solutions and a finalizer for Taipan Bozell Advertising, he later co-establised Powerhaus Unlimited and served as its creative director. Tony was also the production manager of Kestrel Studios and creative consultant to Southern Glory International Garments. His special skills include character illustration and development (for comic books and other publications), writing, and system software diagnostics and troubleshooting (Macintosh platform). He has a personal website called Adamant, where he showcases his artistic talent. Tony is an instructor at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.

    Ronnie Millevo is a professional Multimedia Lecturer and professor at the De La Salle University's College of St. Benilde and St. Scholatica's College manila. he teaches computer graphic courses, such as, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Image Ready, Macromedia Flash, Director and Dreamweaver. he is a practicing multimedia specialist and a fine arts practitioner. he conducts lectures in digital imaging, web publishing, audio-video editing, desktop publishing, 2D animation and CD Rom interactive authoring for corporate functions.
