Resource Speakers

Tony Bucu is an engineer turned graphic designer. From a layout
artist for Graphic Solutions and a finalizer for Taipan Bozell
Advertising, he later co-establised Powerhaus Unlimited and served as
its creative director. He was also the production manager of Kestrel
Studios and creative consultant to Southern Glory International
Garments. His special skills include character illustration and
development (for comic books and other publications), creative
writing, and Mac OS diagnostics and troubleshooting. Tony has a
personal website called Adamant Designs, where he showcases his
artistic talent. Tony is an instructor at the Philippine Center for
Creative Imaging.
Catherine Crisostomo, an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Adobe
Illustrator, is an L1 Technical Support Engineer for Adobe Customer
Support Center, which serves the entire Asia-Pacific region. She is
proficient not just in Illustrator, but also in Acrobat and Encore
DVD. She has led training courses on Acrobat Capture, Encore DVD,
Illustrator, and on integrating Illustrator and Photoshop. She is a
graduate of De La Salle University where she majored in Behavioral
Sciences. Catherine is an instructor at the Philippine Center for
Creative Imaging.
Jon Danao is a Flash engineer/senior Web developer at Slingshot
Interactive Inc., counting among his clients Asian Development Bank,
Mead Johnson, Meralco, and Wow Philippines. He was also the lead
designer for Haribon Foundation, which won the Web Category in the
2002 Catholic Mass Media Awards. During Jon's undergraduate days at
the University of the Philippines, he did art and layout work for
The Philippine Collegian. Years later, Jon mastered Macromedia
Flash, from animation to ActionScripting to database integration. Jon
is an instructor at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Hanz Dy, an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Adobe Acrobat, works as a
technical support engineer at the Adobe Technical Support
Center, which serves the entire Asia-Pacific region. A
Communication Arts graduate of De La Salle University, Hanz has
his own food business and works as a part-time graphic artist. In
addition to Acrobat, Hanz is proficient in a number of Adobe
applications including After Effects andPhotoshop. Hanz is an
instructor at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Dominique James, an Epson Stylus Pro photographer, is one of
the finest professional photographers in the Philippines. He has
photographed most local celebrities and fashion models, as well as
heavy hitters in sports and politics. His photographs have appeared
on the cover or inside pages of various national newspapers and
magazines. Dominique has also photographed top music personalities
for concert posters and covers of bestselling albums. He has
photographed the brightest stars for the posters and DVD/VCD covers
of top-grossing movies. He has also done fashion photographs for top
Filipino designers. To date, Dominique has presented over 40 one-man
photography exhibits. While he is best known for his celebrity
photographs, his favorite subjects include still life, nudes, sunsets
and architecture. Dominique is an instructor at the Philippine Center
for Creative Imaging.
Henry Lopez, a Macromedia Certified Instructor (MCI) in Flash
MX 2004, is a statistician turned independent digital artist and a
scriptwriter. As a digital artist, he does prepress work, Web design,
and multimedia presentations. His clients include a leader in
the infant formula market. He is currently a consultan of
Philippine Animation Studio Inc. As a scriptwriter, he writes
for a TV comedy show, and a couple of his efforts have made it to the
big screen. He is also a photographer and filmmaker. Henry is an
instructor at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Dennis Lucero, an Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro HD
and a Macromedia Certified Instructor (MCI) in Flash MX, is
president of Mediastreak Multimedia and Internet Development. Among
his company's clients are mySecureSign-ePLDT, Marcel Carrageenan, and
Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino. A film and audio visual
communication graduate of the University of the Philippines, Dennis
pursued a career in multimedia at the Art Institute of Houston. He is
a certified L1 sound engineer and is proficient in a number
of software including Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker, Acrobat,
Fireworks, Director and Authorware. Dennis is an instructor at the
Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Mike Martinez is a Technical Support Engineer for Adobe Customer
Support Center, which serves the whole Asia-Pacific region. He
is an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in both InDesign and
PageMaker, and is proficient in a number of other Adobe applications.
He also has considerable design experience, having done layouts while
working at a service bureau, before striking out on his own as a
freelance graphic artist and Web designer. Additionally, Mike is also
knowledgeable in a number of Web-related languages and technologies,
HTML, Java and JavaScript, and ASP. Mike is an instructor at the
Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Robert Quilao is head of on-air promotions at MTV Philippines.
He was previously the on-air graphics and post-production manager
of the Integrated News and Current Affairs Creative Imaging Deparment
of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Company. He was also the director of two
weekly programs at ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC). A Fine Arts
graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, he started his
broadcast design career in 1993 with the Associated Broadcasting
Company (ABC 5). This award-winning broadcast designer has worked
with numerous nonlinear-editing workstations, and 2D and 3D animation
programs. Robert is an instructor at the Philippine Center for
Creative Imaging.
Jun Miranda, the country's first Adobe Certified Expert (ACE)
and an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) in Photoshop CS, is president
and creative director of PixelMagic, a digital imaging studio and
service bureau. He is also a CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer
(CTT+ Certified Professional) and a Kodak Authorized Trainer. Jun
is past president of the Camera Club of the Philippines and was
founding president of the IdN Club Philippines (the country's first
association of digital artists). He is also the founding president
of Club de Camera Digital (CCD), the first association of
digital photographers in the Philippines. Jun is the president and
program director of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Mario Ramirez is Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Photoshop CS. He has
taught local and foreign students (USA, Germany, Denmark). He has
successfully trained staffs of Philippine Daily Inquirer, Kodak,
ADB, etc. He regularly speaks at prestigious conventions like
Graphics & Publishing Seminar, PSTD and IIEE National Conventions. He
voluntarily speaks for student organizations like UP EEE and PSHS.
Also an Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) in AutoCAD, which he
learned in the USA, he has taught 2D/3D and advanced AutoCAD to
professionals since 1990. A veteran instructor, Mario always aims
for a productive learning experience for his class. Mario is an
instructor at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Ige Ramos has been an independent graphic designer for 12 years,
working mostly on book and publication design. Working under his
trademark, Tomato Graphics, he earned numerous honors and awards at
home and abroad. Prior to Tomato Graphics, he worked as a designer
for Chiye, Tribal Genius, Levi's Strauss Far East, Ballet
Philippines, and Tanghalang Pilipino. He holds the distinction of
being one of five Filipino graphic designers featured in the 25
Graphic Designers of South East Asia. Ige is an instructor at the
Philippine Center for Creative Imaging.
Richel Mascariņas is one of the country's most sought-after wedding
photographers,
with more than 15 years of invaluable experiences in the fields of
wedding and digital imaging technology. He regularly conducts Wedding
Photography Workshop at Society of Philippine Portrait Photographers
(SPPP) Seminars and had lectured at the FPPF PhotoWorld 2001. He is
the Vice-President of SPPP, Board Member of Wedding and Portrait
Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP) and one of the founders of
Club Camera de Digital (CCD). Periodically, he is featured in tv
programs, major dailies and wedding magazines.
Toch Arellano is a byword in the industry, his name synonymous with
finely crafted portraits. Like his photographs, Toch's seminars are
noted for their strong grounding in lighting technique rather than
superfluous razzle-dazzle. He currently serves as Adviser to Society
of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (SPPP). He is a
practicing professional photographer since 1970 until present time.
Ronna Lara-Bes, a Discreet Training Specialist, runs an independent
studio which offers various services, including 3D-rendering and
animation, video editing, and custom music. An Architecture graduate
of the University of Santo Tomas, she has been doing 3D modeling and
rendering since 1989. In 1992, she moved to Singapore to work for a
prestigious architectural firm as CAD manager and provided 3D
architectural rendering for the company. Ronna then moved on to
Autodesk, where she was eventually assigned to the Discreet division.
As Senior Applications Specialist for Animation of Discreet, she
provided training and consultancy for Discreet's customers and
business partners in the Asia-Pacific region. She has provided CGI
services for Ayala Land, City Developments (Singapore), DBS Land
(Singapore). Ronna has also provided professional consultation
services for GMA Network, Star TV (HK), Centro (HK) and Digital Dream
Studio (S. Korea).
Ronnie Millevo is a professional Multimedia Lecturer and Professor at
the De La Salle University's College of St. Benilde and St.
Scholastica's College Manila. He teaches computer graphic courses,
such as, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Image Ready, Macromedia Flash,
Director and Dreamweaver. He is practicing multimedia specialist and
a fine arts practitioner. He conducts lectures in digital imaging,
web publishing, audio-video editing, desktop publishing, 2D animation
and CD Rom interactive authoring for corporate functions
