Intimidated by Photoshop’s power and complexity? Want to go beyond
oido and really understand what Photoshop is about? Before you take
another step, take the ABCs of Photoshop CS. The session will
show you, step-by-step, how to get started with Photoshop CS.
Get familiar with Photoshop’s interface and tools; find out how to
make good selections and organize your project with layers; and get
introduced to resolution and scanning. Plus, go beyond the ABCs with
a summary of the automated features that CS offers—File Browser,
Photomerge, Color Replacement, Picture Package and more.
Audience: New and self-taught Photoshop users, as well as photographers
who are new into digital imaging, will benefit from this session.
Topic: Advanced Photoshop Techniques 1:30-4:30pm
This session will explore different features of Photoshop CS and
apply to them to advanced techniques. These include advanced image
adjustments; specific adjustments using histogram palette and curves,
luminosity, clipping display and hue and saturation; color correction
techniques; creating transparent shadows from existing shadows;
displacement maps; using extract on translucent objects; advanced
blending techniques; and many more.
Audience: This session is for every one who has mastered the
fundamentals of Photoshop.

Topic: Scanning Techniques for Designers

If you’re scanning photographs, illustrations, logos and artwork,
this session will cover important tips and techniques that will give you
the best, most consistent results from scanning hardware and software.
It will cover the correct approach to scanning, resolution, color depth,
scanning calibration, scanner’s profile, and scanning techniques for
achieving crisp line art and logo reproductions, better black and white
photos, etc.

of Photoshop CS to get consistent, predictable and better print from
your inkjet and offset printing. It will also cover how to create a
custom scanner, monitor, desktop printer and digital camera profile and
other issues on color management.

While it will review some basic retouching techniques, this session will
concentrate on developing a portrait retouching strategy, removing

Topic: Effective Character Design with 3ds max v.7

characters specially suited for animation. The topics include different
modeling techniques with emphasis on polygon and sub-division surface
