The Philippines have made road as a major
keystone for national development. From
the last decade, to the present, to the
present, we experienced road progress and
transportation developments. We have built
more roads than had been in the previous
century. With this, the Philippines, as
host of the 12th REAAA Conference, is truly
‘on the road’ and on the way
to further road developments and progress.
The REAAA Conference is held once in every
three (3) years and is considered as one
of the important activities of the Association.
The Philippines is privileged to host the
12th REAAA Conference and have chosen a
relevant theme ‘On the Road to the
Future’ as a way to describe current
road developments and progress taking place
in the country. This year’s conference
is expected to highlight meaningful exchange
of ideas, opinion, and experiences by experts
and participants in various countries who
are engaged making road engineering a vital
tool in nation-building.
The results of the Call for Papers, 200
abstracts from 30 countries have been evaluated
and approved for this conference. The technical
papers were classified into 14 relevant
topics which will be presented in the technical
sessions. Throughout the conference, keynote
addresses are scheduled daily and presented
by prominent experts in the Region who will
share their state-of-the art technology
and lessons learned from various project
engagements.
A visit to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX),
a newly-rehabilitated 99 kilometers project
under the Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) program,
and an ongoing Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway,
a successful implementation of a foreign-assisted
project, will be included in the tour itinerary.
